Here’s what the team wants you to know:
We are the Kazoo Kids from St. Mary’s Academy. Our story is a “ROCK-umentary” about the power of music, especially in 2020. The story looks back at the Grammys. The theme of the awards was science and the Periodic Table and this is the law that is broken. A hacker zooms into the awards and demands to be on the “table” but her music doesn’t fit in. We show that her atomic structure can’t just be added or squeezed in the table, but a solution gives all singers a chance to be recognized. The scientific law that is broken is the Law of the Periodic Table of Elements. The elements of the periodic table are arranged in increasing atomic number. The law states that when elements are arranged in order of increasing atomic number, there is a periodic repetition of their chemical and physical properties.
The experience was amazing and we are so glad we did this, even though a lot us weren’t sure we wanted to do it virtually. It was different but in a good way. Our team was very different, too. We weren’t really friends and we combined different grades and learning styles but it worked! Together, we learned about the Periodic Table, Zoom and Wevideo. We learned even when you’re working with people that don’t know anything about what you’re doing, you can still have fun and do really well!
